
Winners of Favourite City Project 2020
The online pitch session of Favourite City Project 2020 took place on 15 December. This year we got 32 applications in two categories: Social Project and Youth Project. The Impact Hub Odessa community selected eleven finalists, who presented their initiatives during the live pitch session.
The participants had two weeks to prepare their pitches together with their mentor Andriy Gubinskiy. The jury faced a challenging task to select from outstanding presentations and important ideas. However, after a detailed discussion Liza Konkina, Sementiy Lobach and Sergiy Yamroz announced the winners:
The project for people with autism Special Workshops. Everyone Is Important won the first prize in the Social Project Category and 50,000 UAH;
The educational tech space for teens Atom Space won the first prize in the Youth Project Category and 25,000 UAH.
The following projects won the second prize and consultations of experts from Pro Bono Club Ukraine:
the ecological initiative EcoRoute (Social Project);
Muzeon Open Library and Experimental Centre (Youth Project).
The following projects won the third prize and Mindspot training programme:
the ecological project Sorting Station (Social Project);
the debating society Odessa Debate Union (Youth Project).
The outdoor cinema Boilerka and its coordinator Ali Salo received a special jury mention for establishing communication and cooperation in a residential district.
Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all participants! Favourite City Project 2020 has demonstrated that despite the challenging year Odessa residents continue implementing important social, cultural, urban and youth projects. We at Impact Hub Odessa are happy to support and develop the social innovation ecosystem in Odessa.
For the last three years, Impact Hub Odessa has been organising the Favourite City Project Contest before the New Year to support important city initiatives. This year, we have picked winners in two categories: Social Project and Youth Project. Impact Hub Odessa Programme Director Elena Podoprigora and Programme Manager Stanislav Drohaiev hosted the final session online.
